Brandon J. Burnett earned his doctorate in materials chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He now enjoys teaching and continuing his research at Weber State University. He recently won the Eccles Fellowship to develop an interdisciplinary Chemistry of Art course with the Visual Arts Department. He enjoys showing the connection between chemistry and other disciplines and finding ways to bring chemistry to everybody. Many of the enclosed labs were built upon the work of his grandfather, Keith Burnett, whose passion for making science available to all inspires Brandon to work on public outreach and developing at-home chemistry experiments. In his free time, Brandon loves creating music and art, and spending time with his wife, Lyndsi, and two kids – Corbin and Nora. They love hiking in the mountains surrounding Ogden, Utah and exploring the exciting, every-day science around them
